Blake, 07/02/25: End of year was rather crazy for all of us, so it might not be surprising if you missed a few of our Financial Navigator blog posts. You can find them all on the main menu. One question we asked them was about their advice for students interested in finance. You should read the full responses, but here are 5 themes they all tended to talk about and some tips:
Start small—read a headline or two each day, follow a company you use, or listen to a podcast on your way to school.
Develop your own point of view, don’t just blindly follow trends or influencers.
Follow startups, trends, and technologies in areas you already love. The more you know, the more value you’ll bring to any future finance role.
Start building your network now. Experience doesn’t have to wait until college.
From coding to communication, our Navigators pointed out that success in finance today requires more than just math. They recommended taking classes in statistics, accounting, public speaking, writing, and even basic programming
Let's get a jump on the formal club kickoff and put together a list of people in the financial industry that we'd like to either speak to our club or take part on our blog. Please reach out to your Mom, Dad or other family members and add any nominations via this google form: https://forms.gle/YAQSsCKsaVrWMfRn9
Hi everyone, if you haven't already, let's use this form to capture who we might want to learn from this year through our Financial Navigators program. Ask your parents, your parents’ friends, your teachers or anyone else if they know of anyone you think might be interesting and then please fill out this short form.
Also, please take this one question poll on what types of financial industry leaders, even if you don’t have any specific people to nominate. You can see the results below,
